Last week, we had a small team of Creative Machines members installing Convergence! Convergence features 7 giant steel ribbons that hang within the Iowa Seaman’s Center atrium. Convergence is an artwork exploring the language of engineering meant specifically to engage engineers. The piece invites students and the general public to decipher the piece searching for equations they know and wondering about the equations they don’t. As a student moves through their degree program, they will begin to recognize new equations making Convergence a piece that they can return to time after time.
