We recently completed fabrication on the Bicycle Generator for Toronto Public Library! What comes next? The testing phase, of course! We invited some awesome kids down to the shop to try out the exhibit. We think they enjoyed themselves! Check out the photos from their visit below.
We have been busy making a custom interactive racing exhibit for the Toronto Public Library called Bicycle Generator. This exhibit allows kids to pedal a bicycle or turn a pair of hand cranks to generate electricity on two WeWatt stations. As each side races against the other, a column of colorful LED lights begins to fill up the digital scoreboard in front of the players, signaling who is in the lead. Here are some photos of the team putting this exhibit together!

Here are some photos of the beginning stages of fabrication. The four exhibits are titled Rate the Risk, […]

The kids got to interact with an array of fun exhibits: watercolor walls, ball launchers, simple machines and a kinetic rolling ball sculpture. Here are some photos from their time spent exploring the shop!

We’ve recently completed another Watercolor Wall! Watercolor Wall is an illuminated, interactive sculpture. Watercolor Walls have been installed in hospitals and children’s museums across the country. The sculpture allows people to explore a rainbow of colors with just one touch. Visitors can paint the wall by pressing their fingers to the silver rings. By holding their hands to these touch sensitive points, they can change areas of the wall to different colors along a continuously variable spectrum. Colors leak between the regions in a manner similar to how watercolor paint […]
