All Things Go is a brand new interactive ball machine going into Cayton Children’s Museum by Sharewell (formerly known as Zimmer Children’s Museum). This ball machine is loaded with an array of interactive devices and functions. It’s equipped with hand cranks, foot pedals, a bouncy seat, and special gears to twist and turn that will change the course of the circulating golf balls depending on how the user decides to interact with the machine. Hanging Demo for Camelback Commons Art

Over the past few months, we have been working on a new monumental placemaking sculpture for Camelback Commons in Phoenix, Arizona. The sculpture will suspend within the atrium of a beautiful office building in the financial center of Phoenix, Arizona – our neighbor to the north! We held a hanging demonstration in our shop to see the 30ft tall, 1,100lb sculpture in action. Here are some photos and video footage of the demonstration! Wet Wheel Coming to Tucson, AZ

The City of Tucson (where we are based) has commissioned a piece titled Wet Wheel, a 20-foot wide and 14-ft tall bike wheel which will straddle a portion of a mixed-use biking/pedestrian path like a gateway. The spokes would be absent except when a cyclist rides through the center, water jets appear in the place of spokes and give the rider an approximately one-second spray of water— a much needed and refreshing way to cool off in the intense, Arizona sun! Fabrication has begun on a brand new, state of the art ball machine for Zimmer Children’s Museum by Sharewell, which is reopening as The Cayton Children’s Museum in late spring 2019! (#TheCaytonIsComing!) This highly specialized and interactive ball machine titled All Things Go helps illustrate and promote healthy living through exercise, rest, and healthy eating. Growing Home has made it to Park 12 in San Diego and was successfully installed by our great team that traveled all the way from Tucson, AZ. This monumental seashell sculpture celebrates all things San Diego with the rich history of the city laser-cut into the beach-inspired stainless steel sculpture. Perpetual Nephron Machine Debuts at Kidney Week 2018

The complete sculpture measures in at 14ft high, towering over visitors and creating a beacon to the Krystexxa booth at the event. Atrium Artwork Fabrication for Camelback Commons

Fabrication is ongoing for the new atrium artwork commissioned for Camelback Commons, a set of office buildings located in Phoenix, Arizona. The monumental suspended sculpture will hang in the center of the atrium and will gently rotate in the space. The leaves will be painted in shades of yellow, green and blue. Perpetual Nephron Machine Fabrication Completed

Here are the final stages of fabrication of the Perpetual Nephron Machine! After these photos were taken, the machine was broken down and shipped to San Diego to premiere at Kidney Week 2018. Kidney Week is hosted by the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) which leads the fight against kidney diseases by educating health professionals. Perpetual Nephron Machine Fabrication Part 3

Perpetual Nephron Machine is really coming together! It has moved out of the fabrication shop and into our clean assembly area after a fresh coat of paint was added to the frame and tracks. Here the electronics team is working on placing the intricate LED lighting and getting the timing of the balls rolling perfectly. New Art for Camelback Commons in Phoenix, AZ

We’re in the process of constructing a monumental suspended, stainless steel sculpture for Camelback Commons, a beautiful set of office spaces located in the financial district of Phoenix, Arizona. This sculpture consists of five massive steel stems supporting giant colorful leaves at their base. The sculpture will hang in the outdoor atrium of the building and will gently rotate within the space.

Body Politic Installation

Our newest piece Body Politic is finally installed! We sent a team to Lenexa, Kansas to professionally install the site-specific piece into the city’s new recreation center. Perpetual Nephron Machine Fabrication Part 1

We recently began construction on a new ball machine for Kidney Week 2018 called The Perpetual Nephron Machine. The ball machine is designed to describe the process of uric acid removal in patients with CKD (chronic kidney disease) and gout using the drug Krystexxa. Ball machines can be a great way to illustrate abstract processes that take place inside the human body. Body Politic Update Part 2

Body Politic is almost ready for installation in Lenexa, Kansas! The spheres are five and seven feet in diameter and are made from hand-hammered, laser-cut stainless steel. The large-scale, interactive sculptures feature more than 200 unique silhouettes, each conveying something different about daily life. Each visitor can investigate the figures and find a representation of themselves within the cut-out figures. Check out past blog posts HERE and HERE for more on this project.
